The story:
Emmanuel and Philippe are involved in a perfect love affair…well! Let us say ‘almost’ because Emmanuel wants to have a baby meanwhile Philippe does not! However one day Emmanuel decides to take the plunge, risking to lose Philippe. But how can it be done to have a baby for a couple of guys?…unless !!!
That unless of the synopsis is Fina who comes across Emmanuel. She is interpreted by actress Pilar Lopez de Ayala. She plays a particularly moving part. In deed how could one not fall in devotion with this sweet little thing, and even more…The film also relies almost entirely on an ambiguous relationship which ties between Emmanuel and Fina. The fact that Emmanuel is gay finally does little in respect to the precept that just friendship between a guy and a girl is impossible.
Anyone will get something out of it: a love affair between two boys, an impossible love story between a boy and a girl… The romantic, pragmatic, cynical, everyone will be able to interpret events differently. Obviously, the almost natural importance that takes the couple Emmanuel / Fina relegates throughout the film into the background the characters played by Pascal Elbé (though restraint but nonetheless convincing) and Anne Brochet,the best friend of Emmanuel and desperate single who brings in large part the comic key of the movie. As often happens in these cases, developing secondary characters adequately gives more depth to the main duo. So that movie hits the mark.
All characters are endearing and appealing. In my opinion this is a quite intelligent movie that casually makes us use our brain about custom difficulties and about the sophistication of human relationships. A must-see movie however which release is today September 2nd 08.
